On July 3, XPRIZE Rainforest finals begin in Amazonas, Brazil. As we stand at the cusp of groundbreaking developments, we invite you to explore the highlights of this extraordinary competition at XPRIZE Rainforest. To better understand the monumental work it took for finalist teams Brazilian Team, ETH BiodivX, Map of Life Rapid Assessments, PROVIDENCE PLUS, Team Limelight Rainforest, and Welcome to the Jungle to get to this point, we are proud to release our XPRIZE Rainforest Miniseries.

EPISODE 1: HOW REVOLUTIONARY TECH IS SAVING RAINFORESTS

In the first episode, we introduce you to the XPRIZE Rainforest competition and the six teams competing in the finals. This episode sets the stage for their ambitious mission, highlighting the challenges teams face and the cutting-edge technologies they employ.

This series captures the essence of innovation, determination, and the power of technology to transform our understanding and monitoring of biodiversity in rainforest ecosystems as we enter the final stage of XPRIZE Rainforest. 

The Amazon is the most biodiverse place on Earth, and is home to one in ten known species on earth, with thousands more yet to be described by science. XPRIZE and sponsor the Alana Foundation designed this competition to foster groundbreaking solutions for assessing the vast and unexplored biodiversity in the Amazon to protect this, and other crucial ecosystems, around the world. 

EPISODE 2: THIS $10 MILLION COMPETITION WILL PROTECT THE AMAZON AND RAINFORESTS WORLDWIDE

In our second episode, take a deeper dive into the pressing issues facing biodiversity monitoring and understand what global biodiversity loss means for our planet. Explore success stories and see how groundbreaking ideas are making a difference in biodiversity conservation. Learn about the pivotal role XPRIZE Rainforest plays in driving innovation and preserving our planet's precious ecosystems.

At finals, the best and brightest teams from around the globe will be tasked with rapidly identifying and cataloging rainforest biodiversity. Their innovative approaches range from drones and AI-driven imaging to novel biosensing technologies, all aimed at creating a comprehensive understanding of rainforest ecosystems.

Teams will have 24 hours to deploy their technologies and collect data in remote and challenging portions of the rainforest. The competition is designed to test their solutions under real-world conditions, pushing the limits of their capabilities. 

EPISODE 3: HOW THE AMAZON WILL TEST THE LIMITS OF XPRIZE RAINFOREST TEAMS

In our third episode, get an inside look at how the final testing location for the XPRIZE Rainforest was chosen and the reasons behind it.
